Frequently Asked Questions

General

Yes. Every High Voltage Audio unit is designed and assembled in Australia. Founded in 2014 by James from Victoria and Andrew from Western Australia, we maintain full control over engineering, production, and quality to deliver professional-grade gear built to last.

We build fully analogue gear using high-quality components, including precision ICs where they deliver optimal sonic performance. By selling directly through this website, we eliminate distributor markups and pass those savings on — without compromising design integrity or reliability.

Our builds combine PCB-mounted components with selective hand assembly where appropriate. While not every joint is hand-soldered, every unit undergoes rigorous in-house testing and quality assurance to ensure consistent performance and long-term reliability.

Order & Warranty

Directly through this website. We do not use dealers or distributors — this allows us to maintain tighter quality control, offer faster support, and keep prices lower by removing unnecessary overheads.

Yes. All units include a comprehensive 24-month manufacturer’s warranty covering parts and labour for manufacturing defects. The customer is responsible for return freight to our workshop; we cover return shipping after repair.

To ensure compatibility across global markets and reduce waste, we do not include power cables. Buyers are expected to provide their own IEC or regional AC cable based on local requirements.

Yes. Any internal modification — including rolling ICs, changing op-amps, or altering circuitry — will immediately void the warranty. Our designs are thoroughly tested as shipped, and unauthorised changes compromise performance and safety.

Due to recent changes in US tariff policies and import regulations, international shipments to the United States now incur additional processing fees, customs overheads, and mandatory use of premium courier services (such as DHL or FedEx) instead of standard postal networks. These carriers charge significantly higher rates, which directly affect our shipping costs.

While we pass these costs on transparently — with no markup — we understand this creates added burden for US customers. We are actively exploring alternative fulfilment solutions, including regional stocking partners and compliant low-cost dispatch options, to reduce expenses in the future. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these challenges to continue serving the US market reliably.

Support & Repairs

Please contact us via our Contact Page with details of the issue. If a return is required, we’ll provide instructions and an authorisation number. All repairs are handled in-house at our Australian facility.

Yes. We support all units regardless of warranty status. Out-of-warranty repairs are subject to a bench fee ($100/hour) and parts cost. A quote will be provided after initial assessment.

No, we do not offer custom modifications, bespoke builds, or circuit alterations. Our products are designed as complete systems with a specific sonic character and performance goal in mind. Every component choice and layout decision is made to uphold that vision.

By not offering customisations, we ensure consistency, reliability, and full warranty coverage across all units. This also allows us to maintain rigorous quality control and stand firmly behind every piece of equipment we ship.

Yes. We offer remote setup guidance and consultation by appointment. Fees apply for extended sessions. Our goal is to ensure you get the most out of your gear from day one.
