Below is a collection of retired High Voltage Audio products — hand-built units from earlier production runs that helped shape our journey. While no longer in active manufacturing, these designs remain reliable and are supported for service where possible.

Produced 2019–2022

The VMC-76 is our modern take on a vintage classic - the venerable FET compressor! Instead of reinventing the wheel, our approach was to ambitiously reimagine this iconic design. In a sea of clones, our aim was to bring something truly unique to the table. The only thing better than one FET compressor is two! From a form factor perspective, we have taken what is traditionally a single channel, 2RU beast and halved the size to 1RU whilst doubling the channel count. If that wasn't enough, there are two switchable output stages, each with a different voicing: a modern, transparent solid state output stage and a true (not starved plate!) high voltage, colored tube output stage.

HVA-4K

HVA-4K

Produced 2017–2023

Hand built in Australia, The HVA-4K is the next generation of our VCA Stereo Bus Compressor. It is the culmination of 12 months of work in redesigning, rebuilding and optimising this classic circuit from the ground up. We took the best parts of our 4000 G-Series compressor and optimised these with performance and an enhanced feature set at the heart of the HVA-4K design.

  • Attack (6 step rotary switch): 0.1, 0.3, 1, 3, 10, 30 milliseconds
  • Release (5 step rotary switch): 100, 300, 600, 1200, 2400 (Auto) milliseconds
  • Sidechain High Pass Filter (5 step rotary switch): OFF, 60hz, 90hz, 130hz, 200hz
  • Blend Control: adjusts the balance of dry and wet (compressed signal)
  • True Bypass: relay switched bypass
  • Noise Floor: -105db or better
  • THD: 0.02% or better
  • EMI filtered power supply (100-250V AC input), suitable for all regions.

G-Series SSL Compressor

G-Series SSL Compressor

Produced 2014–2018

Hand built in Australia. Signal path true to the original with dual sidechain "Turbo" mode as standard. Modelled after the classic SSL G Series Console Compressor.
